Perhaps this painting represent the inner beingn of the man, this is the soul. And in here we can see how the gas mask represents a black dot in the soul, in other words "trouble in paradise", the gray tones used here represent the lack of color, or emotions in life. No... not really I made this because I really like gas masks, no other special meaning to it.
